Use it all the time to get ideas to put into my infrequent workouts. I used this book to introduce me to Pilates and I loved how detailed and well explained the instructions are. Now I just need to start actually using this book The layout and illustrations for each exercise are complete and useful, despite the fact that I would recommend it for anyone – but I believe it’s advisable to undertake starting Pilates with a qualified instructor.


She incorporates the basics and proves that we do tthe need machines or gyms to do Pilates. We work with a group of people and we can’t concentrate all of our attention to just one. Especially as Pilates teachers we can never get enough of the good stuff for ourselves and continually study and teach this amazing method of body conditioning.

This is a good primer if I’m rusty and need to get the technique down. An informative and very well demonstrated book for introducing pilates mat work into your life. Many “instructors” have never even used the Gratz equipment which is a necessary component to the Pilates mat mat first, then equipment. What is your least favorite Pilates word?
